AMAN LE MÉLÉZIN, COURCHEVEL 1850

Offering an ultra-bespoke chalet-style après ski experience, The Aman Mélézin proves to offer the sophisticated traveller an exclusive Courchevel experience unlike any other.

Situated in the French Alps’ Les Trois Vallees—one of the largest ski areas in the world—the elite ski resort town of Courchevel 1850 offers an array of skiable terrain, with over 320 downhill tracks, trails and heli-skiing adventures whilst also offering designer shopping and an array of fine dining restaurants and VIP nightlife experiences. The boutique 31-room hotel that is the Aman Mélézin primely sits in the centre of the action of Courchevel, framed by dusted pines and ragged mountain boutiques, the property features a revitalised contemporary take on the classic ski lodge, whilst in keeping a “home-like” country manor feel to its residents and guests. Interiors ooze a feeling of understated glamour and luxury, featuring dark wood panelling highlighted by engravings and frescoes.

The signature in-house Japanese restaurant Nama is a must-visit whilst visiting Courchevel with an inspired menu that follows Japan's Unesco-recognised tradition of washoku, a style of cuisine that elevates cooking to an art form. Under the guidance of master chef Keiji Matoba, every Nama dish is imbued with a strong sense of its locale, focusing on the finest ingredients available nearby. Recognised by Unesco as a heritage cuisine, the secret to Washoku lies in simplicity. Though the process of washoku is complex, its purpose lies in bringing out the essence of each ingredient, combining the fresher flavours with ancient Japanese craftsmanship. Showcasing sashimi, sushi and grilled Wagyu beef, Nama's menu fuses fine produce with a culinary craftsmanship that take years to perfect, bringing essential flavours to the fore.

Suite Le Mélézin, being one of the resorts signature suites offers over 93-square meters of living providing exceptional piste and village views from its south-facing balcony in addition to its private living room, daybed and oversized Ensuite. A family apartment is also offered for guests travelling with children catering to up to 5 people. With health and wellness being a key element of the Aman brand, an entire new floor has been dedicated to offering specialised treatment rooms with tailored massages and facials to combat the alpine elements, in addition to a fully equipped gym, swimming pool and spa facilities. For those looking for a relaxing afternoon of pampering, look no further.
