BOTTEGA VENETA PARIS FLAGSHIP STORE
Bottega Veneta has unveiled its latest flagship store on Avenue Montaigne in Paris, a striking 800-square-metre space designed by creative director Matthieu Blazy. The store showcases a refined blend of walnut wood and square glass bricks, creating a modern grid structure that fills the space with natural light.
Blazy's design draws inspiration from Bottega Veneta’s signature “intrecciato” woven leather technique, with the motif echoed in the carved walnut panels, display tables, and columns. Glass bricks are seamlessly integrated into the floors, ceilings, and walls, enhancing the store’s sleek, industrial edge while maintaining a refined, sophisticated atmosphere. The geometric gridwork not only highlights the store’s modernist design but also creates a dynamic interplay of light and shadow, adding depth and texture to the space.
The walnut wood extends into transitional areas, from a graceful spiral staircase to curved corridors, embodying the brand’s sophisticated yet modern aesthetic. Statement pieces such as wooden display tables and intricately carved columns mirror Bottega Veneta’s renowned leather craftsmanship, providing a sense of elevated artistry in every corner of the space. Notable design features include a stunning glass door handle crafted by Venice-based Japanese artist Ritsue Mishima, adding an artisanal touch to the Parisian sanctuary.
With its sleek, open-plan layout, the store is defined by intimate enclaves of soft seating and plush, carpeted dressing rooms. These cozy areas are contrasted with the grand, light-filled expanses, offering a luxurious space for reflection and shopping. Sofas and chairs, wrapped in woven leather panels, further the homage to the "intrecciato” technique. Blazy’s first flagship design for Bottega Veneta in Paris skillfully blends modernism with the brand’s Italian heritage, setting a new benchmark for luxury retail design.
