MBFW AUSTRALIA COVERAGE: DAY 2
As the blue skies shun over Sydney, Day 2 of MBFW Australia took place with Carriageworks becoming the hub of activity with Alice McCall opening the day, launching her latest Resort collection and International model Jordan Barrett making a surprise appearance.
Known as the designer to the stars, McCall inspired by trips to the Ritz Carlton Paris, saw her create pastel and simplistic, luxe timeless pieces. "I think in this day and age we live in a society that's very disposable. I like to create things that have longevity that becomes sentimental to our customer," McCall Stated. "If you look at our brand we've always embodied that, now we've just elevated that a little bit with some more premium fabrics and price points and sophisticated silhouettes."
Fresh from attending the annual Met Gala, Australian top model, Jordan Barrett flew in to open and close the Justin Cassin menswear show. The show proved to showcase the multi-functional element to the collection offering superior workmanship reflecting the modern man. “I’m a Sydney boy so what better way to launch the collection than in my home country, start from here and take on the rest of the world after that,” the designer said. “I want men to be able to buy clothes with an international look and feel from an Australian designer, in Australia. That’s something I think has been missing locally for such a long time.”
