LONDON’S BEST ART MUSEUMS

 

As one of the worlds art capitals, London’s art scene proves to be one of the most diverse and thriving places to visit, buy and support both up incoming and international designers, artists and historians. Thus it was only fitting, TFJ Team compiled our favourite museums and galleries to explore on your next visit to the UK capital.

 

 

British Museum, London

 

Located in Bloomsbury the legendary British Museum is an iconic public instituition of London dedicated to World Art and Artefacts. With over 8-million works, the permanent collection is one of the world’s largest and most comprehensive.

 

 

Saatchi Gallery, London

 

Opened by Charles Saatchi in 1985, the impressive Kings Road building is dedicated to housing contemporary art presenting work by largely unseen young artists or by international artists whose work has been rarely or never exhibited in the UK. The Saatchi Gallery proved to be the launch pad for international celebrity artist Damien Hirst who was discovered by Charles Saatchi in his earlier years.

 

 

Design Museum, London

 

Located in Kensington London, The Design Museum proves an architectural marvel offering both a permanent collection and international visits showcasing product, graphic, industrial, architectural and fashion design.

 

 

White Cube, London

 

Opened in October 2011, the newly established gallery offers over 58,000 square feet of interior space designed by London and Berlin-based architects Casper Mueller Kneer. With regular events as the space is dedicated to hosting important exhibitions such as the first UK showing of work by American artist Theaster Gates, a comprehensive retrospective of prints by Chuck Close and the largest presentation of Anselm Kiefer's work ever staged in London. To accompany these exhibitions, an education programme and an ongoing series of artists films, feature films and lectures takes place in the purpose-built 60 seat auditorium.

 

 

Maddox Gallery, London

 

It’s a place to see and be seen, Maddox Gallery London, located in the exclusive Maddox Street Mayfair is a regular host to celebrity art shows and go-to gallery for some of the world’s wealthiest. Dedicated to supporting and showcasing blue-chip talent as well as emerging artists, the gallery offers fans of international artists such as RETNA, Andy Warhol, Jeff Koons and Tyler Shields an up-close and personal experience unlike no other.
