The famous French luxury-goods sponsor took reference from the glorious histories of the house and the America’s Cup, both established in the 1850’s representing a bold, graphic and sporty new edge of classic clothing and accessories. This has influenced Louis Vuitton’s Artistic director for menswear, Kim Jones who drew inspiration from the famous V logo that a third-generation Vuitton, Gaston-Louis introduced in the early 20th century. Such traditional designs have cleverly been reinvigorated by Jones who uses graphic blues, whites and reds on a series of leather goods to create a fun spirit as the fashion community gears up for summer. The Capsule Collection is in stores from this month honoring the historic sailing competition and as the event carries on to 2017 more items will be added.
