Working with Wimberly Interiors, Belmond has restored and meticulously curated the iconic trainline and created an atmosphere that combines 1920s and 1930s design with modern sophistication.  The Venice Simplon Orient Express  has a storied history that stretches back to 1883, when it first began its iconic route from Paris to Istanbul, quickly earning a reputation as the epitome of luxury and refinement. Over the decades, it became a symbol of glamour, attracting royalty, aristocrats, and celebrities alike. The train’s opulent interiors are drenched in rich wood paneling, plush velvet seats, and exquisite marquetry, blending the old-world charm of original designs with contemporary comforts.

Each of the Grand Suites aboard the train is inspired by the cities the train visits, the glamorous accommodations an embodiment of each namesake’s spirit. The Paris Suite pays homage to the art deco movement with rich textiles and metallic accents, while the Venice Suite offers a romantic, Venetian-inspired experience with its sophisticated marquetry and deep, plush furnishings.​ With three elegant dining cars, Côte d’Azur, Étoile du Nord, and L’Oriental, dining aboard the Venice Simplon Orient Express is an experience in and of itself. Each dining cart features unique design elements like lalique glass panels and floral marquetry, reflecting the glamour and grandeur of the 1920s. Chef Jean Imbert, an acclaimed French chef, guides the culinary journey, blending classical French techniques with Mediterranean influences. The result is a menu that is both evocative and refined, featuring seasonal dishes paired with exceptional wines from across the continent.
