Describe a usual day in the life of Willabelle
The first thing I jump into is responding to texts and checking on my social media. This helps me to mentally note down what I need to do for the day. When I’m not travelling or preparing for events to attend, I like to take my time with breakfast or brunch, and then clear as much work as I can. Sometimes I plan and conceptualise my shoots, and on others days I execute them and try to film some fun videos for TikTok. If I have time or whenever inspiration hits, I retreat to my studio to work on some of my paintings. By evening, I look forward to seeing my loved ones for a meal and I take the rest of the night off by winding down with a favourite book, show or indulging in a long bubble bath.
When/Why did you decide to get involved in luxury media influencing?
I actually fell into this career by chance – and continued doing so because I simply enjoy it. My mum had opened up my eyes to the world of fashion at a young age, and I’ve adored dressing up since then. With luxury brands and couture, there is always a story, a remarkable level of craftsmanship and a mastery of technique that goes behind each and every product and/or collection. I have incredible respect for the artisans’ appreciation of the care and materials, and their passion for the process.
Where do you currently call home?
I currently reside in Singapore with my husband, while my family lives in Australia. I miss them a lot, but we try to see each other at least 3-4 times a year.
How have you been keeping busy during quarantine?
Keeping safe and doing shoots from home, working on videos for TikTok, painting in my art studio, reading from time to time, and hanging out with family in the evenings. I’ve also recently revamped my website so I’m excited about pushing more content out!
Where will be your first travel destination, after quarantine?
Definitely somewhere snowy and wintry, as my husband and I were planning for a trip like that before the travel situation had gotten worse. Finland and Norway, perhaps?
All-time favourite travel destination?
Iceland during the winter season, for sure. From its majestic sights of the Milky Way and Northern Lights, to its phenomenal untouched landscapes of frozen waterfalls and snow-capped glaciers, the place is otherworldly in many ways.
How would you describe your personal style?
Classic and elegant with a touch of masculinity. My style typically depends on my mood and/or my travel plans. For example, I love sticking to neutrals when I’m visiting Paris, but will tend to play with more colours if I’m holidaying in New York.
All-time favourite accessory?
For me, heavy gold chain necklaces are a modern classic and I like that they add an element of finesse to any outfit.
Which scent are you currently wearing?
Right now, I rotate between Louis Vuitton’s Le Jour Se Lève, Chanel’s Gabrielle and Jersey Les Exclusifs, Maison Christian Dior’s Thé Cachemire and HERMÈS’ Un Jardin sur la Lagune.
Which upcoming designers are you currently inspired by?
I’ve been obsessing over Peter Do's unique blazer designs and I love his take on the modern female silhouette.
